GLS - App Design, UI/UX, Web Design

Map
Project Overview
I led the redesign of the OOH Location Map, migrating from a legacy Joomla implementation to a unified native GLS web module, serving as the single source of truth for all ParcelShop and Locker locations across web and mobile.
My Role & Process
User Research & Problem Framing: Conducted competitor research across leading map products to identify best practices for OOH features, pin clustering, filter UX, and mobile-first map controls.
Design System Integration & AI-Readiness: While designing the map, I restructured the GLS/NXT design system to be AI-ready, cleaning up token naming, rebuilding components with clear variant structures, and aligning Figma 1:1 with Storybook. This made the system legible to Claude, letting me co-create within the DS constraints and move significantly faster.
UX/UI Design: Designed the full map module, including OOH pins for ParcelShops and Lockers, map controls, search, a combined map + list panel, persistent filter state, and a location detail view with opening hours, directions, and a report-a-problem entry point.
Collaboration & Handover: Worked closely with developers using Figma and Storybook as living documentation, with all edge cases and states covered for QA.
Analytics & Validation: Defined tracking hooks for search, filter, and location detail actions to measure success and inform iterations.
